Trumpet
A Brief History of the Trumpet
Early Trumpets have been found in Egypt as early as 1500 BC. Normally coiled out of bronze or other soft metals, the first trumpets had no valves and could only play the overtones of a set key. In the middle ages, a set of interchangeable crooks were developed to allow the instrument to change keys, and the invention of the modern valve and tuning slide allows modern trumpets to play the full range of modern music.
