Russ Carere - Flute, Clarinet, Saxophone, Guitar
A prolific musician, artist, composer and arranger, Russ Carere has performed professionally in Western New York for
over 30 years. A multi-instrumentalist on the woodwinds, Russ is in high demand for his doubling ability. He often
performs in “the pit” at Shea’s Performing Arts Center and Artpark. Formerly with the Amherst Sax Quartet, Russ toured
in the US, Europe, and Japan. He can be found on many local artists’ recordings and including his own CD, “April Dawn”
which features his own compositions. Russ attended SUNY Fredonia School of Music. Russ comes from a very musical
family; and his wife April and three children, Russell, Justin, and Jill are all excellent musicians.

Michael Sydor – Piano, Brass, Woodwind, Theory
Michael received his Bachelor’s in Music Education from Long Island University in 2004. He moved to Buffalo in
summer 2006 and is currently Band Director at Westfield Academy. From 2004-2006 Michael taught at the Malverne
Public Schools on Long Island as well as piano, woodwinds, and brass privately. An accomplished pianist, Michael is
also available as an accompanist.
Annie Newall - Oboe, Woodwinds
Annie received her Bachelor's in Music Education from SUNY Fredonia. Since 2002, Annie has taught at Nichols
School and also had a private oboe studio. Although the oboe is her primary instrument, she also teaches flute, clarinet,
and saxophone. Annie holds a Master's degree in Educational Psychology from the University at Buffalo. When not
performing with the Orchard Park Symphony and Amherst Chamber Ensembles, Annie enjoys playing in a local softball
league.
